Project #1 - Distressed Table

I decided to base my project on... Just beating up a table and trowing paint and stain on it lettng it dry and sometimes not letting it dry to see what kind of stressed look i can get.

Why I chose this project: try something new. Challenge my self

Self-Critique: I tthink the table came out interesting. Im happy with it.

  1. The texture you created from stressing out the wood is what really caught my attention when I saw the piece in person. It was even more pronounced with the blue and gold paint that you used, sort of giving a modern vibe to an older piece of furniture. I don't see this project telling a story; it's simply visually appealing and that's what I like about it. There doesn't need to be any deep meanings to me, I just like seeing something that makes me go "Oh, that's really cool." I can totally picture this table being that wow factor in a boring room. It's a piece that seems to be able to bring life to an empty place.

  2. I like the idea of you doing the table. i think you should have played around to the proportion of the table so the silhouette looks a little more interesting to the viewer. I also would have like to see more coats of paint. Other than that great job.
